Pulmonology is a field of medicine that deals with diseases related to the lungs. Respiratory disease, in particular, has increased significantly over the years as a result of environmental conditions, genetic predisposition, and lifestyle behaviors. Sleep apnea, an escalating health care problem is also treated by pulmonologists based on diagnosis confirmation through a “sleep study.”

While some pulmonology medical problems are reasonably treated by Primary Care Physicians (Internists), many patients have complexities of disease that require the attention of a specialist—a Pulmonologist.

The Medical Group has long provided pulmonary medical care and has a highly experienced pulmonologist, along with qualified Nurse Practitioners. In coordinating patient care, our internists routinely discuss patients with our pulmonologist. Furthermore, our entire team of physicians (internists, pulmonologist, and cardiologist) collaborate on care plans for patients with multiple health problems. We also have extensive on-site diagnostic testing available, including our Pulmonary Lab.
